The Zenex Foundation embarked on a coaching programme as one of the key components of its larger Zenex Literacy Project which was rolled out in 21 schools across three provinces including urban, peri-urban and deep rural areas from 2015-2017. The Zenex Foundation panel at the Literacy Association of South Africa (LITASA) Conference 2018 reflected on the implementation of the Head of Department coaching component drawing from an external evaluation that Zenex commissioned. Specifically, the panellists focused on the impact of coaching on teaching and learning practices.
