The celebratory events were hosted to mark the end of the three-year Zenex Literacy Project (2015-2018). Teachers, principals, district officials from project schools in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, as well as the literacy service providers who supported the implementation of the project came together to share their experiences and insights from the project. A critical project output – the Expert Reading Teacher Reference materials – was shared at the events. The materials were designed to teach Foundation Phase teachers to teach reading effectively.
